Millimetres, measured over the outside faces.
The overlay lid is a shallow lidless box that drops over the top. Clearance is the gap per side between the box wall and the lid rim.
Joint size is the target finger length. Finger counts are snapped odd so every corner lands on a tab. Kerf widens tabs and narrows slots for a press fit.
Even splits the cavity equally.
Crossing dividers are always cross-lapped. Free-floating makes a removable egg-crate with no wall or base slots.
Tap a compartment, then split it. Splits nest, so you can give one region three narrow slots while its neighbour stays a single wide tray. Walls that dead-end into other walls are tabbed through them; nothing cross-laps.
Tap a compartment to select it.
